Hau
Cing came to Singapore in the dream of finding a supportive job
opportunity. As an experienced, well-educated caring nurse, Hau
Cing joined Ling Kwang Home last year and had received a six-month
on-the-job training for special care to senior citizens.
Here's Hau Cing's sharing:
"I was surprised by the professional and well-organized courses
that I received. My past experience in nursing care are fully realized
here. In addition, I learned specific techniques in taking care
of old people. The six-months course provides extensive coverage
of the job both theoretically and practically. I gained valuable
experiences when taking part in the course. The best part of the
course is that it is practical focused. It is important for nurses
to participate in such ways to be ready and confident on the job.
I also get to practise my language skills which helps in my communication
skill. I am more confident now compared to when a few months ago.
In addition to the valuable personal development program provided,
LKH also offers a friendly, supportive and family-like environment
to its employees and volunteers. LKH tries to provide care to our
senior both in medical and spiritual means. For example, Devotions
are provided for all Christians in Chinese. One of the fundamental
beliefs of LKH is the value and satisfaction of its staff. In order
to spread love to our senior citizens and their families, there
must be love in the heart and mind of everyone involved. In the
light of this belief, I am very happy to be part of this big family.
The environment is great and stable. I am able to get all the physical
and emotional supports that I need. Everyone is smiling and kind
here, I learn a lot from my co-workers and the senior residents.
I am amazed of their experience and accomplishment. We respect and
love our seniors. We get opportunities to share our views in LKH.
And we are determine to make our place even better!!!
