Respite
Introduction
Respite care provides family caregivers temporary relief from tasks
associated with caregiving. It is a short term care that helps a
family takes a break from the daily routine and stress. The respite
care program that Ling Kwang Home offers is the full-time residential
care.
Service
provided
The type of services and activities provided for the respite care
clients are similar to that of residential-care residents. This
includes full-time nursing care, nutritional dietary, rehabilitation
exercise, and social activities.
Duration
of Stay
Respite Care clients can stay for a period between 2 weeks and a
maximum of 6 months. The fee is chargeable on a daily basis and
payable upon the actual day of admission.
How
to apply
Admission is on a case by case basis depending on the ward bed availability
and the level of nursing care required by the elderly. A medical
report from the Doctor is a necessary pre-requisite.
