STATEMENT 9

ON CHRISTIAN UNITY

Meeting of the 17th World Congress of the ICCC held at the 21st Century Youth Training Centre, belonging to the Glory Bible Presbyterian Church of Seoul, Korea on June 8-14, 2005

WHEREAS:
The primary weakness of the World Council of Churches from a human viewpoint is that the leaders have a vision, objectives, and enthusiasm for the ecumenical cause, but their lukewarm followers and masses, and those formally associated with the WCC are indifferent to their causes.

WHEREAS:
The principal strength of the ICCC, also from a human viewpoint, must be the common vision, objective, and the enthusiasm of all those who embody the ICCC including the leaders, the women, young people and even young children, for the cause of the faithfulness of the Word of God: and,

WHEREAS:
The unity of the faithful Christian body requires an ample sincere and firm acceptance of the basic doctrines of the sacred Scriptures as it is summarily expressed in the Doctrinal Statement of the ICCC: and

WHEREAS:
The unity of the faithful body requires a wide range and sincere tolerance of those doctrines in which good Christian brethren differ because they are not revealed in a clear and amplified way as are the basic doctrines. Also this tolerance must include the practices that are not regulated clearly by the Holy Scriptures: and,

WHEREAS:
The Lord Jesus Christ in John 17 clearly referred to the true Christian unity that establishes at least:

(A) The only true Christian unity is essentially spiritual. As it exists between God the Father and God the Son. "That they all may be One: as thou Father art in Me, and I in Thee, that they also may be one in us……."

(B) This unity must be seen by the world not as external or organizational, but as and unity of faith, and of a holy life.

(C) of the redeemed:" so that all of us may be one ….. that the world may believe that Thou has sent me" John 17:21. "I in them and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one and that the world may know that Thou has sent me … " John 17:23.

(D) This unity is only for the true children of God, for those in whom Christ lives ("I in them" John 17:23, 26). "I pray for them, I pray not for the world. But for them which Thou hast given me; for they are Thine" John 17:9. This unity belongs to those who sincerely confess the true God of the Holy Scriptures. "For I have given unto them the words which Thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from Thee, and they have believed that Thou didst send me" John 17:8.

(E) True unity is a gift of God to His church of all ages. "Holy Father, keep through Thine own name those whom Thou has given me that they may be one as we are." Therefore the results are not by human efforts; and

(F) The world cannot love this unity, therefore the applause promoted by the ecumenicals is proof sufficient that they are false. "I have given them Thy Word and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world."

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:

(A) We call all the believers that are in the WCC and their false unity as well as all those who are involved in false Christian unity movements, that they should come out of the apostate churches according to that ordered by the Word of God. "Come out from among them and be ye separate saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing and I will receive you."

(B) Let us exhort these weak Christians to join the ICCC, it's true unity, cooperation, and fellowship according to the Scriptures.
